Our Customers Say About UsMississippi Tank Company Hattiesburg, MS Mississippi Tanks products include compressed gas transport trailers, bobtail units, and storage tanks. The company also provides custom fabrication, testing, and repair services for the chemical and refining industry. Mississippi Tank uses advanced equipment and software to design many types of pressure vessels. An Okuma Millac 1052V Vertical Milling Center and Okuma LB 45 CNC Turning Center are among the most recent installations. Both machines came equipped with 1000 psi high pressure pump and coolant systems by MP Systems. Weve been very pleased with our Okumas with the high pressure pumps, especially for the drilling and high speed milling that were doing. The high pressure coolant gets chips out very well. MP Systems has been great with support. They are taking care of us well. We make our own flange parts from 3 to 42 dia. range from 1-3/4 to 2.5 thick. Our drilled holes range from 0.055 to 1-3/8 dia. The high pressure system has lengthened tool life, and we can drill faster than ever. For example, a 21/32 hole used to be run at 9 10 ipm and now its increased to 17 ipm. Were blasting 200 plus holes in one cycle. Bob Threatt, Design Engineer, Mississippi Tank CompanyVanamatic Company Delphos, OH Founded in 1969, Machine Specialties is a full-service contract machining and metal finishing specialist that provides a variety of services including milling, Swiss screw machining, turning, grinding, quality control, and finishing. MSI has earned AS9100 & ISO9001-2000 certification and is a NADCAP accredited facility for chemical processing. The company uses powerful CAD/CAM technology to create exact duplicates of customer designs, and then produces them on over 40 CNC machine tools in a climate-controlled 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility Machine Specialties, Inc. recently earned a spot on The Business Journal's 2008 "Fast 50" list of fastest growing privately held companies in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point region of North Carolina and was also named one of the "Best Places to Work" by the Triad Business Journal. We have Okuma Multus B300 machines here and were having difficulty drilling smaller holes. We purchased one high pressure pump from MP Systems to see if it would resolve the problem. Its worked great for us so far. It sped up our cycle times on every tool we use. We get longer tool life, and we no longer have trouble drilling smaller and deeper holes. Weve since purchased two more RF8 pumps for our Okumas. It was a quick and easy setup and a short learning curve. Ryan Jeffreys, CNC Machinist, Machine Specialties Inc.Machine Specialties Inc. Greensboro, NC From a modest beginning in a leased building with three screw machines to its world class 79,022 sq. ft. facility, Vanamatic Company has enjoyed success in the precision machined components arena. Employment levels have increased from the original six to the current 65. Its screw machine capacity has increased more than eight times and the company has expanded its market base to include industrial, automotive, aerospace, electrical, air conditioning, and housing industries. The main reason for pursuing a high pressure coolant system was the need to deep-hole drill in stainless steel materials and carbon steel grade 1117. We were unsuccessful drilling lengths that were 12 to 15 times larger than the diameters without high pressure coolant. We were breaking a lot of expensive drills and we couldnt drill all the way through on some parts, so we had to drill shallow and perform secondary operations to drill through the parts. Currently we have MP Systems pumps on two Conomatic 8 spindle screw machines, pumping coolant at 8 gallons per minute. We use two to five drills in sizes from 1/8 to 19/32 diameters. With the high pressure pumps, were running more parts complete off our multispindle screw machines. Steve Schroeder, Engineering Manager, Vanamatic CompanyKarl Schmidt Unisia, Inc. Marinette, WI KSPistons, a division of Karl Schmidt Unisia, Inc., develops, produces and sells pistons for combustion engines (for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, ships, stationary engines) as well as for piston compressors. With a headcount of around 5,480, KSPistons is represented at 10 production locations worldwide. The main outlets are Europe, as well as North and South America. KS Pistons is launching into a new business area involving heavy duty diesel applications. We have three MP Systems in-house. Two of them were purchased by me, connected to Okuma MC-V4020 VMCs. We are operating them with thru-the-spindle coolant at 750 psi. With our previous high pressure system, we experienced too many drive faults and downtime because of pump performance and reliability problems. Another frustrating aspect was the alarm setup put the machine in a full emergency stop mode. With the MP high pressure system integrated with the Okuma Thinc control, we are experiencing a significant performance and uptime improvement. Further, we have more flexibility with how we want to be alerted should there be an issue and can still finish the machine cycle. Mike Bergfelt, Manufacturing Engineer, KS PistonsJet Engine OEM (Identity must be discretionary) Our company has 19 Okuma MB-46 Horizontal Machining Centers equipped with MP Systems Z-Cool programmable coolant nozzle systems. We integrated our first batch of machines in 2007. We were looking for a system to include some type of programmable nozzle so that we could position where the high pressure coolant hits each individual cutter automatically. The engineers from The Robert E. Morris Company and MP Systems developed a successful solution with equipment and software, and were extremely happy with it. We know our coolant is always going to be where we want it. Were running 1000 psi through the system, which is great, because we can place the nozzle 8 inches or so from the cutter itself and still get a very strong stream of coolant to get the chips out.
